Youth Group
St. Rosalia Youth Group invites all
students-grades seven through twelve to join with fellow
teenagers to learn, serve and enjoy. The group has a strong
seventh and eighth grade membership with members continuing
to attend now and then throughout high school.
The focus of the group is threefold.
The members explore various facets of their religious
development and discuss appropriate social topics in the
light of current Catholic moral teachings. Each meeting has
a religious theme developed in either small group
activities, a prayer service, or both. The second focus is
service. Youth group members learn ministry as they work
with the Food Bank to provide gifts at Christmas, deliver
tickets fort the festival or offer monthly donut socials for
parishioners after the 7:30 and 9:30 Masses. Of course, much
learning is done in the form of games and social activities
at this age. So Youth Group also provides opportunities at
each meeting for the members to relax and have fun. Several
trips are planned each year to places like Fun Fore All,
Seven Springs, and Cedar Point. Fund raisers are held
throughout the year to help defray the cost of these trips
for the teenagers.
Our youth have a lot to offer and
through Youth Group they are given opportunities to be true,
active members of our parish. The Youth Group usually meets
every other Monday during the school year from 7:30-8:30
p.m. in the new school building. |
